so it has increasingly become clearer that i indeed have been re-experiencing my middle school nightmare. have never understood the effort to be cruel, so it baffles me when i am faced with efforts of this kind. but the quote "what susie says about sally says more about susie than it does about sally," really does ring true, although it takes practice to detach from the not-so-nice opinion of others. and when i found myself sinking to the level of my adversaries i got literally sick. the lesson: other people do not define you, and when they try to impose their nasty opinions you have two options: advocate for yourself or simply walk away, especially from married men who work as lawyers and try to chase you around the office with a bunch of bored jealous girls cheering him on.
